What type of bass lessons do you offer?
We offer a variety of bass lessons, from beginner to advanced. We specialize in electric bass, as well as electric and acoustic guitar. Our instructors are the best at what they do, so you can be sure to get the best lessons for your needs. You also get to build up your skills playing different genres such as rock, pop, jazz, blues, metal, country, and classical, for both electric and acoustic basses.
What will I learn from bass lessons at the Academy?
Learn bass lines, rhythms, grooves, timing, chords, arpeggios and triads, melodies, sight reading, and theory. Every lesson is a combination of educational and entertaining activities, such as introducing a new technical challenge or theory concept and then playing a favorite riff or piece. Furthermore, we use a variety of bass methods and allow you to bring your smartphone to the lesson so you can play your favorite tunes.
How long are the lessons?
Thanks to our customized and personalized bass lessons plan, Baton Rouge Music Academy instructors can adjust the teaching length to suit a specific schedule. Regular bass lesson lengths are 30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute lessons.
What age do you accept for bass lessons?
We typically accept students of 7 and up for bass lessons with a few exceptions.
What qualifications do your instructors have?
Our instructors are all highly experienced in bass playing and have extensive experience teaching. They have all passed a stringent screening process, have a college music degree, or are a professional performing musician to ensure they are qualified to teach.
